lazy to update =x

well!

it's already halfway into feb of 2010 and i haven't updated the blog in a while.

so here i am, procrastinating as usual while reading through a book written by sg doctors (that i found in the library) on ED issues.... i thought i should update this as much as i can before one friend starts to kill me the next time i see her.

cape town was wonderful. yes all the advice about safety was greatly needed but it did cause some degree of psychological trauma. but that aside, i possibly had the best time of my life there. :)

but now it's back to reality, mid into 2nd week back at uni. everyone's talking about where to work now.

need to enjoy student life. :D

day 5 in cape town

finally able to sit down after a day's work and not going out hee :) enjoying the night off heading out..

went out last night to the waterfront area. since it was kim's last night in cape town, we thought we'll take the sunset cruise! no bookings whatsoever but when we got there, we realised that we could use the back of our sightseeing bus tours coupons to get a 15% off. turned out that it was only for a day cruise that lasts for 1h but given that the day cruise ferry was full, they made another trip at 7.30pm - ie sunset time!! so instead of the usual 200 rand for sunset cruise, we only paid 85rand!!


and i just had to put a picture of a view of camp's bay with a bit of table mountain in the background. this was taken during the sightseeing bus tour i took with tim on sunday after a failed table mountain experience due to the mist which left us drenched by the end of the walk.
amazing eh? really really thankful for this opportunity to be here in south aafrica :) able to see many different things here, that we don't see back in melbourne or in singapore. social issues arise everywhere - but here, it's also a different story. theatres are about 1/4 bigger than that in melb/sg -maybe it's the glass windows that looks out to onee of the peak of table mountain.. but state of the art equipment, but ward wise - can be improved. didn't manage to cut/ suture or anything like that and i don't think i'll get the chance to do so - but being able to see - that's already an amazing opportunity.

so now that i've moved to the main dormitory with the rest of the backpackers - mainly students here on internship/ gap year/ graduate trips - mainly dutch as well, one german; the housekeeper stays upstairs with her daughter, so all's good. heading out to robben island, the infamous island where nelson mandela was imprisoned, this sunday - with the people at the lodge + tim so all's good :)

going to catch some early sleep tonight! got home late last night after a great dinner post sunset cruise at Paulaner's :) yumyum! dinner today was roast chicken from the supermarket and salad leaves and toast :) hee hee. too lazy to cook. meh.

will need some more time to get used to the surroundings, the people. but all's good. very thankful for meeting nice people and all. can't wait to start getting used to the place, knowing the area and all. works well to be large built in a place like this when u are walking around alone at 7pm!

off to table mountain tomorrow ( i think!) all grown up - real independence begins :)

dubai airport is similar to sg airport. in a way I can't believe that i'm really on my way to cape town! fears aside, I believe that it will be an unforgettable experience to hold close to my heart. boarding the plane already! :)

year of many promises.

2009 has been what seems like a long year for me, and many others. looking back, it has been filled with anticipation, reluctance, happiness, thankfulness, stress, fustration, nervousness, satisfaction, contentment. what a joy to be able to be alive and experience all of the emotions that one can possibly have!

at the end of 2009, i've concluded that i am, afterall, a girl who seeks after nothing more than contentment, peacefulness, and the simple joy that being safe and secure in the presence of loved ones bring.

2010 will begin with an adventure that has been planned since about a year ago. oh the wealth of knowledge that awaits! updates as soon as i can as well :)

here's sending my best wishes to all for the new year! may 2010 be one filled with joy and peace in the heart, and love for your loved ones.
