stupid mantoux test

yea. it's stupid. haha. MY left arm has this huge red dot there and it's itching like crazy. like i was saying, i suspect they increased the concentration of the injected solution cos it didn't itch like this nor was it as red as it is now the first time i had the test. well done. i shall not succumb to the urge to scratch it! ah!

anyways, it was the first time i was falling asleep during lecture today. was so funny. not that i snored or did anything funny, but i was in a semi-conscious state, trying very hard to listen and take down notes, and trying to fight off the zzz-monster. tim was beside me with a bag of gummy bags and kept asking me to eat it to "send some glucose to the brain". well, it did help, but i was only kept awake for like 5 mins. so i figured out that in half an hour i will need around 6 gummy bears and i didn't want to keep stuffing myself with them, so i tried using mental strength. but i only woke up when it's time to leave. like it always happen. well done jiahui. :)

reason for why i was so tired. ahha. :) was at Warrnambool during the weekend, supposedly for some rural medicine stuff. in the promotion of the event, they mentioned they might get us to learn some clinical skills! and well, it was not as it was promised. we ended up visiting a rural hospital, in a small town known as Timboon, where we actually learnt the difference between a rural GP and a city GP. a small and cosy town, everyone practically knows every other person in town. talk about scenery man.. nothing can beat the endless view of green grass.. and trees.. :) and blue skies!

after Timboon was down to Warrnambool... where we were taken to this cafe "fishtales" to have lunch.. and then down to Warrnambool hospital, to just look at the hospital. we went up to the paediatrics ward, down to the emergency dept where we saw a few patients awaiting the attention of nurses and doctors. i guess i had this feeling, which i can't describe, at the paediatric ward. seeing little beds, i dunno.. is it really what i want? :) still deciding! but anyways, it was a silly trip, we all enjoyed ourselves more at Timboon.

so after the short hospital "tour" we went to our accommodation at the "stuffed backpackers". it is well, a backpackers place? so 6 of us girls shared a room.. which has 3 double-decks.. and 6 guys shared the room with 8 beds and the driver had a room, and the 2 male 4th years had a room too. there was only one toilet. wow. a bit dingy, but it was fine. we were all too tired, but too bothered about the cleanliness of the place, i conked out anyways, and so did the others, flat on the mattress but mag slept in a different position i think. heh. :)

BREAKFAST! was the best i ever had! huge too man. we went down to Port Fairy, another small town, and had a huge brekkie. i ordered maple pancakes.. and they were like 15cm in diameter.. and there were 2 of them? plus 2 huge slice of bacon, and one banana... woohooo. there was the french toast, which was huge as well, with loads of other stuff... woohoo. it's WONDERFUL! haha! :) breakfast is the MOST important meal of the day! isn't it! :)

then we went down to great ocean road and had this whole series of sight-seeing points.. like the "bay of the islands".. "the grotto".. etc.. and of cos "the twelve apostles".. which was too misty to be seen. FANTASTIC photos to share.. and i promise to put them up as soon as i get the internet in my room up. which is highly unlikely. so yea! :) felt a bit motion-sickly after lunch at apollo bay where we had to drive down a long winding road.. and i fell asleep. haha :)

so all in all, i love the largeness of the countryside. really. the breath-taking scenery, the clean air where everything just smells so fresh! country side is beautiful. but after a while, we city people just miss having our own bed. and the place we stay.. and yea :) well.. we need the flow of people to keep us alive? i dunno. but i REALLY enjoyed breathing in country air. :) refreshing!

watched "closer" in warrnambool at the cinema next to our accommodation. have to say it's a warped movie. really warped. it's brutally honest about life. and that i have to agree with my friend. well, nothing much to say about closer. i didn't expect it to be such a harsh movie. yeah.

so! all in all, we are all mugging for a MCQ test on thursday, after which i will be meeting timo aka girl girl in melb uni! whee! ahha.. stupid test. we all don't know really understand the lecturers. study the notes and study guide, sometimes don't understand. study using textbooks, too much to read, no time. so how? grr.

anywyas i gotta go toilet. haha. :) EVERYONE PLEASE TAKE CARE!

and to my special darling sister! HAPPY BIRTHDAY! study hard and i do hope u received the card! and a mini pressie. :)
