was reading my friends' blog... and they were talking about love and stuff.. like how do we know whether we have found the right one or not.
"compatibility is more important.. as long as two people complement each other well.. they're happy together.. it's more likely to work..."
what if two people are compatible but then there are instances and stresses that occurs and makes them unhappy? do they give up and distance themselves? and say that they're incompatible?
"finding someone you like who also likes you is hard. finding someone you like who also likes you and is compatible with you is even more difficult.."
what if you found someone who likes you but think he/she isn't compatible with you? what if both of u have found each other, being people u've always wanted to find all ur lives... and then something unhappy happened that made one person wanting to leave.. and say.. "no it's not right"... what do u do?
"do we get married cos we've found our soul mates or simply the one whom we think we can live with?"
i think we get married cos you want to make each other's lives better for each other. they may not be the one ideal person whom u can just tick off a checklist of plus points... but someone who is able to be there for you.. and you being there for him/her... and there has to be this belief... and this want to put in effort to sustain it... but both has to be mentally sound for the r/s to be sustained...
and when u find that someone.. u wouldn't want to let go.. anyhow.
haha.. yes yes.. jielin and kaichin.. both of ur blogs ah.. made me have this urge to write all these... :)

"Being in love is a good thing, but it is not the best thing. There are many things below it, but there are also things above it. You cannot make it the basis of a whole life. It is a noble feeling, but it is still a feeling. Now no feeling can be relied on to last in its full intensity, or even to last at all... In fact, the state of being in love usually does not last... But of course ceasing to be 'in love' need not mean ceasing to love. Love... is a deep unity, maintained by the WILL and deliberately strengthened by habit; reinforced by the grace which both partners ask and receive from God... They can retain this love even when each would easily, if they allowed themselves, be 'in love' with someone else. 'Being in love' first moved them to promise fidelity: this quieter love enables them to keep their promise. It is on this love that the engine of marriage is run: being in love was the explosion that started it." - C. S. Lewis
compatibility and personality issues are encapsulated in the larger perspective of love and how to love. you might find the person compatible in the beginning but circumstances change and personalities deviate. What kind of engine is the relationship being run on, then? Compatibility issues are important, but secondary in this larger perspective of love...
