just isn't the same anymore eh?

just read esmee's blog about being back and not feeling like we fit in anymore.

i never gave much thought into that before. we come and go, people come and go. Everyone grows up and have their own lives- family, friends, work, committments, differing interests... who stays the same? likewise, we go overseas, and when we come back, sometimes we aren't the same anymore too.

nothing stays the same. isn't it?

change is always happening... just for a very simple example. the fountain terrace of suntec city has changed lah. omg. and so has parkway parade with the new topshop and dorothy perkins and everything! and there's no more bookbinders along city link.

okay other than that. MY WEIGHT HASN'T CHANGED FOR A LONG TIME.

back to the reflective mood. change. my living environment has changed. my social life has changed a bit. shopping doesn't really entices me much anymore. even just looking at the photographs of my students from ngee ann pri in a competition booklet they took part 2 years ago... they have changed too.

i guess we have to learn how to embrace the change.

fitting in, being part of other people's social calendar, is not gonna be the same anymore. our parents' expectations of us have changed. people started work, people have school, people have projects... etc...

but i guess, if the emotions involved are true.. eg... friendships... no matter where u are, u will never run out of topics to talk about. you don't have to be there all the time. as long as there is the indication from time to time that u still care, they will still be there for you. isn't it?

on another note... haha.. ever tried waving to kids who are staring at you in the car in front of u and u're either driving or in the front passenger seat? me and weiyong did that.. and the kids got so fascinated that EVERY KID IN THAT FREAKING BIG CAR turned back and smiled and waved... boy was i freaked out. haha.. then we changed lane and then drove beside them and they came to the side window and waved goodbye! haha.. funny kids :)
