children are active participants.just reading the past week's lectures. during health practice we went through this concept. In life, the child participates actively. they yearn for autonomy of life. while the parent demands self control and very often, conflicts occur.
a child desires to be in their own world, and in doing so, may step on their parents' toes of wanting a perfect life for their child. as such, parents usually 'squash' such desire... and our lecturer told us that parents should not do that, instead, they should scaffold their child's learning for cognitive abilities.
so! what to make of that?
and deciding to heck it and stay in IH for another year isn't a very happy decision somehow. it's made for simplicity and practicality sake.
back to studying :]
wanting peace!
