the meaning of presents...

presents. everyone loves getting them. :) well, whoe doesn't! heh..

but, not everyone gets them. why? i don't know. maybe one reason some people gets more is that they have friends who want to give them presents, to shower them with presents. during their birthdays, normally,and of course, during christmas.

always the one sharing presents, and also sometimes buying them, i sometimes do wonder, when i give, will i get it back. as in, when i buy my friend a present, i give her a gift that simply says," thanks for being such a wonderful friend, and on a special day like your birthday, i give u this present, though it's not something ex, but i hope u like it because u are worth the effort and time that i spent in getting something for you."

but will she buy me back a present? but i always end up being disgusted with myself whenever i think of this. "jiahui. you give, and do not expect to receive. don't you understand?"

well, then the title of this post should be changed to "the meaning of giving"... well, it's that u simply don't expect to receive. i guess.

but it simply sets me thinking whenever my friends just ask me "hey, do u want to share xxx's present with me? i am thinking of getting him *******.. ya! can?" i dunno why. i just think, in the huge and blurry world of mine... whether this friend will ask another friend "hey, do you want to share jiahui's present with me? i am thinking of getting her this...." yeah.

but then again, why should i bother right?

if i am so bothered, why do i give? nah.. i m not bothered. nor am i irritated.

and it's time to give.. and see the wonderfull smile on others' faces, whenever they receive a present, from their friends, who took the time and effort to buy them something that they might need, or will remind them of them. yeah. that's it.

we give to see the smile on others' faces. that's the meaning of presents. that's the meaning of giving.

or is it not?
