heh. WHY! :)
i realised i still have lots to study for my piano exam. study. not only the music. but the history. oh i so love it.
went to my cousin's place in the afternoon... my niece was running around the house, waving the small spore flag.. and singing "HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO SINGAPORE! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!" haha. she's 4 years old.
and my 7 years old nephew will somehow sing a few phrases of "home" or "one united people" while he's doing his work heh. propaganda.
ok. i was observing the youngest nephew.. 1 year old... sleeping. lying on his back, i could see his breathing.. ok.. i was observing how his tummy moves up, and down. and immediately brought to my mind about the day when we were trying hard to teach the kids how to send their breath deeper down, instead of just filling up their lungs and breath, tensing their shoulders. it just occured to me, while watching my nephew breathe, that breathing naturally, without tensing up, we might actually send the breath deeper, and get the kids to use the correct breathing technique while singing.
if a 1 year old toddler can do that, i don't see why primary sch kids can't.
hmmm.. thinking. :)
