one down...

just got back from my OSCE Physical Examination not long ago... it's the part of the assessment where we just need to pass and it's not counted towards the final grade.. but it's the part which we will be using throughout our career...

we're tested on our skills on cardiovascular or respiratory examination... my lucky fingers picked "respiratory" and so i went into the ward with my tutor and examined this old man.. i basically had to help him to his bed, take his top off.. quite different from the previous one which was so rehearsed (at St. Vincent's), this one seemed a bit more real, i guess having a real patient for an exam is really different from having a "subject"-physio/med student...

and, i swear i get the most random comments ever. this patient told me that i am look just as lovely as his son's fiancee (or something like that)...

on another note, went out for niro's birthday dinner yesterday. well, i know he doesn't read this blog (i think) but i really got to say that he really has a way with words. Maybe it's a tradition for them or at any birthday dinners to give a speech, but these past 2 days i've heard 2 moving speeches. This second one was tear-jerking. sometimes u can't help but compare the level of maturity between people of the same age. though he's only 22, i believe he has the ability to think deeply just like a man who has gone through quite a bit of hardships to know what he needs to treasure at this point in his life- his friends. And maybe for someone who has left home for 5 years already, he really knows that when you're out there, having friends whom u can count on is really important. And i believe that was what touched me. that he actually took the effort to acknowledge that.

i guess he's one of those few people that i know whom i can call 'a man'...

okays, off to the avalanche of papers i go.
