and now the purple dusk of twilight time
steals across the meadows of my heart,
high up in the sky the little stars climb,
always reminding me that we're apart.
you wandered down the lane and far away,
leaving me a song that will not die,
love is now the stardust of yesterday,
the music of the years gone by.
sometimes i wonder why i spend the lonely night dreaming of a song?
the melody haunts my reverie and i am once again with you
when our love was new,and each kiss an inspiration,
but that was long ago: now my consolation is in the stardust of a song.
beside a garden wall, when stars are bright,
you are in my arms,
the nightingale tells his fairy tale
of paradise, where roses grew.
Tho' i dream in vain,
in my heart it will remain:
My stardust melody, the memory of love's refrain.
that was the song i sang, for the first and last time, as a solo... in IH. it was nerve-wrecking. but as with all performances, as narcissistic as it sounds, when i'm on stage alone.. i imagine myself to be all alone, in a room... (a big one)... and just basically indulging in my own sounds.
though my voice shook.. it didn't shake throughout! ahha i chose a song that was slow and easy and chordal and LOW. ehhe. will attempt to get the videos soon :)
HAHA and i watched hairspray. it got me dancing and excited in the end.
on a more serious note..watched 'australian idol: doin' it for the kids' programme last night at yingyi's and i felt motivated once more. just telling myself that in whatever i do, i have got to ensure that i'm doing my best. and it's a good thought to keep in mind. cos it's so easy to slack off this year. but if i slack off, what kind of person would that speak of me? and especially in a profession that calls for much dedication... what happened to the joy and satisfaction in seeing others smile and get well? but before that can happen... i've got to ensure i've got the ability to even do that right? so jiayou to me! and to all who are struggling to find that bit of motivation in them. press on!
