fragility

fragility of life.
you can be a life brimming with hope with endless opportunities in front of you. you have done nothing wrong before in your life. but accidents are accidents.it's not a drink and drive. it's old age. accidents aren't meant to happen. but they just do. then before you know it, your ability to walk is gone. what happens to your medical career then?

a close friend's sis met with an accident last wednesday. since then, it has been a whirlwind of emotions and nightmare for him and his family. suddenly, healthcare took on a new dimension. how do you comfort the hearts of those who are grieving? are you even able to?

am on my neurology rotation at the moment and have talked to 2 patients with stroke so far. one moment the patient is recovering... the next hour or two they would be on oxygen because of seizure. the fragility of life. i don't believe that there is no supreme being in control.

well, to end off this really sad post... something totally opposite. the kids i meet in church...
