been back for about 4 days now, from the lands of fish&chips, pasta, of churches, of ruins, of water. of having to don on layers before heading out, of having to bury our heads in the scarf, of having nothing much to worry about other than what to eat and where to go.
had a great time with
darling sister who had everyone worrying about her head, even her own friends there! made new friends and all as well. thanks to her and her friends who made travelling so much more fun! all the cooking, the gelati, gorgeous sunsets. of lonely planet guide book as well! :) and not to mention random brazilian men who were our hostel-mates too. weird. shrug.
just something that popped up during my lunchtime conversation with mum.. about distance. was just discussing with her about the future and all. about how where to train, when to eventually come back. and then the topic of distance came up.
how true it is. you can be physically very close to someone yet if there isn't the desire to be emotionally close, or if there isnt the chance to open up and to fill up the distance between 2 persons, it's as if you are strangers. yet 2 people can be miles apart yet still, feel the closeness. isn't that true? :)
got excited over what's going to be happening in melbourne. recent events in the hospital and that i'll be there to have the chance to see it! amazing!!! but it is also something that made me wonder where my compassion went. my first reaction wasn't that it was a sad thing to happen but that "wow, i can see an important operation!" what's happening to me?
just about 11 more days in sg. such mixed feelings again. but i think this time, will handle it much better! and just like what my mum said.. it's not the literal distance that matters but the emotional distance! :D
