mornings walks and dinner attempts..

took this photo on the way to work one morning, actually, the afternoon cos it was raining too heavily in the morning to walk! and the fountain was working! so i took a nice picture of it! this place always reminds me of how suaku me and yingyi were in first year spring that we both took a walk from IH to this place, JUST to catch the fountain. and we took photos with it, hugging the big trees around carlton garden. amazing how we take things for granted after a while, that it will still be there all the time, whenever we look for it. walking past carlton gardens each morning is just another portion of my walk.. (i break it up into 3 parts) :) i just assume that the trees, the roads, the building, the fountain, etc everything will always be there when i walk past it. will i realise it one day if they're gone?

then! this is one of the many meals i've cooked since living out of IH. must say that though IH brings back fond memories, and though i still know people in IH, it just feels weird being back. yes it's warm and fuzzy knowing that i am part of IH history, that i still know the place, the people, and somehow it is really a part of me that defined my uni life, but being back on thurs night to visit was so .. stifling. the feel of the banister was there, familiar faces around, but somehow i felt like a guest. someone who used to belong but doesn't belong now. it was a weird feeling and i must go back again to try it out. im glad that some tutors are still around, some seniors i still know.. but it's like a chapter of my life that has closed and i won't go back to try to relive the moments. it'll rather be a nice part of my memories. :) heard that there are 16 singaporeans this time! :) haha. wonderful.

anyways, this is 鱼香茄子 i think. spicy eggplant in garlic sauce or something like that. :) thanks to lum kee! had a great great meal with it.. had it with noodles.. yum! DEFINITELY repeating this dish since i heart eggplant so much :) mr good cook also says it's good!

though i must say that picture isn't that well taken :) hehe. (sorry no skills...)

time to bond with my mattress. :D
